i don't have a problem with the book info being introduced, when it's relevant to the show but otherwise it just muddies the plot the show has laid out
It's the same story (just the books have more happening and more characters).
They aren't the same thing. Just like the lotr movies were not the same. Everyone understands that except you for some reason. The books and the series are no longer interchangeable due to the constraints inherent in the medium of tv vs books
I think LOTR basically was the same story. I've read the book (lotr) twice, and seen the movies several times.
Bigger changes here, but not to the main plot with Dany/Jon. At least not yet. Of course the series has gotten a lot further.
I dont care anymore. Youve bored me into submission.
Always enjoy discussing with you. (No sarcasm)
this isn't discussion, it's what you did last time with me in this thread, a restatement of your opinions regardless of whatever i say to the contrary. discussion is taking into account what i have to say and replying accordingly

I don't see that at all. I posted about the Jamie theory and the cave painting. You made a joke about the cave painting thing, and then said the theory was a stretch. I asked you about Azor Ahai and who you thought it was. You didn't care who it was, but asked me why I didn't think it was Dany. I took my time and wrote a long post about who Azor Ahai could be and why. You then asked me if I believed in any far-flung theory. I wrote that I don't, but that I've read the books and seen the show, and that the show is all about these stories, and that any theory that has come up so far, has proven to be true. You said the books aren't the same, and that I am the only one that doesn't understand this. I explained that the story we are discussing about Dany/Jon/Azor Ahai are so far basically the same, although the show has gotten further. You then said that I bored you into submission. I replied that I enjoyed our discussion. You then said that this wasn't a discussion, just me saying my opinions, regardless of what you say. I find that very strange the way the discussion has gone.
I thought they determined the word should be interpreted as prince or princess?
In the show Dany's advisors did. I doubt it's Dany.
because...
Do you think it's her?
I don't care who it is, honestly, i would like to know why you doubt dany is the prince/princess.
It would be funny if no one was and it was just a silly myth
That one was true though.
Um, not according to Obi-Wan Kenobi, it wasn't.
It is widely agreed that he did. There is a debate on when though. Some believe he brought balance at the end of Revenge, with equal strength between the sith and the jedi. But I believe it was when he killed Palpatine. Which only he could. Obi-Wan couldn't possibly know what would happen at that time. That is also what those who created the story think.

Anders are you watching Rebels? We have a whole sub-Forum in which to hash all this out. You should start there.

Azor Ahai is to be reborn again to challenge the Others. This will occur after a long summer when an evil, cold darkness descends upon the world. It is said that wielding Lightbringer once again, Azor Ahai will stand against the Others, and if he fails, the world fails with him. "There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him."
He shall be born again amidst smoke and salt (Dany s1, Jon s5, Jamie s6?)
He shall wake dragons out of stone (Dany, there is talk of a dragon under Winterfell as well, and Jon is linked with an ice dragon in the books, Jon could be an awoken "dragon" himself as a Targaryen, this is where Dany has the strongest claim, the quote comes from Melisandre in the books)
He shall draw from the fire a burning sword, Lightbringer (Jon Snow has a dream where he fights the Others with a red sword burning in his hand, him and Jamie have Valyrian swords)
He is born of the line of Aerys II and Rhaella (Dany, Jon, possibly Jamie if the mad king was his father, which is not impossible since the mad king desired Jamie's mother)
His is the song of ice and fire (Jon is both ice and fire, it makes a lot more sense than anything else for that to be about him, but it could also be seen as Jon (ice) with Dany (fire) and possibly Jamie (fire) as well)
He is reborn (Dany, Jon, possibly Jamie)
Cause the death of a lover (Dany and Jon, quite possibly Jamie in the future)
Was born when stars bleed (Dany and Jon, Dany with a red comet, Jon with a bleeding sword that was forged from a falling star)
Killed a lion (Lannister?) and his wife Nissa Nissa with his sword (this is probably the part of it that matters least, unless it has something to do with Jamie and Cersei, although both Dany and Jon have had lovers killed near them as mentioned above)
GRRM said if he uses a prophecy there must be some surprise involved (sounds least like Dany)
The dragon has three heads (so quite possibly three people are involved, perhaps riding the dragons)
He works to ally people to fight the others (only Jon so far)

Last episode was great, I love the way they use real historical battle tactics in this show. Dany basically blitzkrieged the Lannister army with Drogon acting as combo tank/dive bomber. Once their line was broken by the dragon they were done. I too was rooting for both sides in this battle and thought it was excellently done.
RE: Dany's intentions, I'm going to give her the benefit of a doubt considering she freed a whole nation of slaves and has been careful not to just burn the whole civilization down, which she's obviously capable of.

I'm a huge fan of how they shoot the battles. It's a lost art in movies lately.
