A mass of hands press on the market window Ghosts of progress Dressed in slow death Feeding on hunger And glaring through the promise Upon the food that rots slowly in the aisle A mass of nameless at the oasis That hides the graves beneath the master's hill Are buried for drinking The rivers water while Shackled to the the line at the empty well
This is the new sound, just like the old sound Just like the noose wound, over the new ground This is the new sound, just like the old sound Just like the noose wound, over new ground
Listen to the facist sing "Take hope here War is elsewhere You were chosen This is Gods land Soon we'll be free Of blot and mixture Seeds planted by our Forefathers hand" A mass of promises Begin to rupture Like the pockets Of the new world kings Like swollen stomachs In Appalachia Like the priest that fucked you As he whispered holy things A mass of tears have transform the stones now Sharpened on suffering And woven into the slings Hope lies in the rubble of this rich fortress Taking today what tomorrow never brings
This is the new sound, just like the old sound Just like the noose wound, over new ground This is the new sound, just like the old sound Just like the noose wound, over the new ground This is the new sound, just like the old sound Just like the noose wound, over the new ground Ain't the new sound, just like the old sound Look at the noose now, over the, over the, over the burning ground

A grassroots movement from an English couple led to something pretty amazing. A 10 year old RATM song went head to head with Simon Cowell's X-factor winner, which had been the number 1 Christmas single for 6 or 7 years. Rage said they'd play a free show in London if their song won....not only did their song sell more copies, they played a free show in London, and 80,000 people showed up.
Guys, I am not a moderator! I swear to God! Why does everyone think I'm a moderator?

I know. still badass.
has anything even remotely that cool happened since?
Brad Wilk was a guest on the Let There Be Talk, and it was awesome.
He discussed the Rage story but also his relationship with Ed Ved. Great talk.
Just listening to this now.
Gotta say I had no idea he’d auditioned for Pearl Jam post-Krusen or had been in a band with Ed in the 80s!
Both were mentioned in the PJ20 book.
There is a lot more from what i knew. Wilk actually went to London and jammed with the guys for a time. He also picked up eddie wne he came back from seattle...lots of stories.
