It's an awful fucking lyric song stop trying to defend it.
You don't like I Am Mine?
it's totally middle of the road for me. completely inoffensive. it just never clicked. i get why it was the single off Riot Act though, but it's nowhere near the top of my favorite songs on that album

Im sorry but the worst Pearl Jam line of all time is definitely 100% "North is to south what the clock is to time"
It means absolutely nothing Eddie just thinks he sounds really clever when he says it
"The North is to South what the clock is to time There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life I know I was born and I know that I'll die The in between is mine I am mine"
The directions on a map or a compass tell you where you are, a clock tells you what time it is. You know you are born, and you know you will die. But only you can decide what and where you spend your time. Time or place does not decide for you. In that context they are the same.

I know the lyric is " leave your lady on the cement floor", but for the longest that me, I thought that he said "ceiling floor" and still prefer to think it is that.

LB has to be about seeing lightning while surfing and trying to get out of the water. "Looking for a place to land, have you got yourself some sand?" "Her problems" I always thought was referring to Earth ? I'm pro I Am Mine, cheesy lyric and all. It was written in Tidewater VA !!
