Finally got around to the last episode. The wrestling promo skit was hilarious, and the child-molesting robot was probably one of the greatest things I've ever seen on SNL. Holy shit that was ballsy.

Both Katy Perry performances were laughably awful garbage. What an embarrassment. It was like watching Gwenyth Paltrow in a rap video.

Agreed on both the skits. Katy Perry was wooden and awkward, but I love the simplicity of her backing tracks.

Ballsy was the word I used, too. For two reasons:
number one is basically just the willingness to joke about child molestation, but the line about the way to build a child molesting robot is to 'build a regular robot, molest it, and hope that it continues the cycle.' holy shit.
number two is that they then took what might be the most objectionable skit of the year and turned it into a White Castle commercial for seemingly no reason. White Castle has not been in the news recently for doing anything worth being punished for. The only thing I can figure is that some manager yelled at Beck and Mooney earlier in the week and they wanted revenge.

The Weekend Update special was pretty good.
I realized that Eric & Don Jr remind me of the inbred prince portraits from 1600s/1700s Europe.

Agree; Tina Fey was the best part of the episode. She got some pretty good digs in.

Finally caught up on Weekend Update: Summer Edition. Pretty entertaining so far.

Also, they announced Ryan Gosling / Jay Z for the fall premier.

I giggled at the Papyrus sketch.
