The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
One of the rare times I stumbled upon it was at a local wine store. They had a few spirits on the side and on the top shelf was Elmer for... $120. Fuck that shit.
that had to have been the sour mash..thats about the average price for that..the regular single barrel bourbon is about $35 here
I've still never seen it for more than $40 around here. Again, I just never see it anymore. This is the single barrel I'm talking about. I don't know anything about the sour mash.
Here's something just for fun regarding "Texas whiskey" and a look at why Kentucky bourbon is typically what I reach for at the store. Our staff is doing a tasting/education event with Rebecca Creek later this afternoon, actually. I'm looking forward to it.
the local grocery store had a sale on jameson..if you bought 3 or more they were $14 a bottle..I bought 12 today..i'm good for awhile
I remember when Jameson used to be $15 a bottle in Brooklyn. Then, magically, one day it jumped up to $28. And I haven't had a lot of Jameson since. But I'd absolutely but a case or two at $14.

It's too loaded with vanilla and honey notes for me, and not in a subtle way. Balcones Rumble is a lot better if I'm ever in that sort of mood. I get exactly what the sales rep was saying when he mentioned that Rebecca Creek is marketed as a local alternative to Crown.
Like I said, it sells at our bar so we keep it on. It's a good price and it's not bad tasting, just nothing special. I'm okay recommending it to bar patrons who just want a mixed drink.

Wait, for some reason, here in SC, Costco is allowed to sell liquor. It is in a separate entrance from the main store. I always thought that was peculiar.

do you have those ancient sunday rules where you can't buy alcohol before noon? i always hated that about NYC
until ten years ago you couldn't buy alcohol at all on Sundays here. But now you can buy beer and wine whenever. Liquor stores must be closed on Sundays, though.
