I think there is certainly an interesting story line in there about the rebels lacking any sense of plan about what to do if they were successful in overthrowing the empire.
Sounds like the Democrats and Republicans right now.

Watched this again on blu ray; can't believe how many times Luke is referred to as "the last jedi" in this flick; the new title for the next movie was right there all along.

That said 'Luke skywalker has vanished.' Is my favourite opening line in Star Wars. It sets up the whole movie in one line and was a super brave decision to make especially trying to relaunch the franchise and him always being the central character.

So after Rey and Finn escape Jakku (sp?) they are in space. They do not go to hyperspace. How did the First Order, who was already at the planet miss them? Then like 5 seconds later Han finds them. That has never made any sense to me. Anyone have the answer?

There was a hidden beacon on the falcon that went on as soon as the ship was powered up. As to the time involved, star wars has always moved at the speed of plot line. Always. Never a good idea to wonder about it.
For example there's something like 3 weeks between Rey and chewie leaving to find Luke and finding luke. On screen it looks like minutes later.
There's weeks between Han and Leia leaving Hoth and getting to Bespin. That kinda thing.

I purchased the 3D blu-ray of this from Amazon because it was only £14.99. What's the 3D conversion like?
Never saw this in 3D at the theater, but I thought it looked alright in 3D on the blu-ray. Wonder how many more 3D home releases we'll get now that TV manufacturers have canned the technology
