Bored by 4yr old daughter with this one. Although, she was excited when RBG got her robe, b/c she had to wait through most of the book for "my hero" to get her superhero costume.

I couldn't remember Elena Kagan, but in my defense ... I was stuck on the name Kay Hagan, who is NC's last Senator. I couldn't get that unstuck.

Question about this Gorsuch stuff. Can Democrats just abstain from the vote? Seems like that's what I'd want to do. "I won't stand in his way, but I'm not dignifying this bullshit with a vote."

Nina Totenburg (sp?) was on NPR talking about 8-10 Democratic Senators in states that went strongly for Trump, who probably can't risk voting no.

Absolutely, members of Congress vote present all the time on things. Seems like a good out for someone like Joe Manchin or Heidi Heitkamp.

Absolutely! Homer's knowledge of Supreme Court justices is actually quite impressive:

Doesn't this kinda fall under "who cares?". For the average person, does knowing the name of a SCOTUS justice improve their life in meaningful way? Knowing the name of a nominee might, since they could pressure their local reps to vote one way or another, but for someone stocking shelves at Walmart what does it matter?

Your argument is strengthened when even Jeopardy contestants couldn't get this right:

I don't post in this thread a lot, but I read it and follow the Court pretty closely. Am I a freak?

Thomas crossed over to strike down a pair of North Carolina congressional districts:

As for Gorsuch, the first major indication I've seen from him came today when he, along with Thomas, would have wanted to hear a case challenging the restriction on soft money in campaigns.

No post on how the Supreme Court Marshal has informed Trump that articles of impeachment have been written up against him?

Louise Mensch said so at least.
