Will we ever see a Star Wars film without R2 and 3PO? If so... which one will be the first to break the tradition? Old Republic? Sith Wars? Something in the far future, past Episode 9? We saw 3PO get built. Will we see either droid get destroyed?

Can see them killing off 3PO. Never R2 though.

Films without them? Sure.

Yep. I really can't imagine them ever doing killing him off. I give it a 1% chance. And that's only a 1% chance it ever happens. I give it a 0% chance in the next 25 years.

I imagine there will be a time were non of the characters from the current movies will appear if they want to make one movie per year or something and continue to expand the story.

Go back and look at the Obi Wan scene when he's with Luke talking about Luke's 'father'

Guinness plays it like he knows the whole story arc. His eyes tell the tale. It's wonderful.

I noticed that after the the prequels, actually. It's super impressive acting. And part of the reason why I fucking love Obi-Wan so much. Alec Guinness was a genius.

Late to the party here, but I'm curious about what that Plat post in the Rogue One thread that had everyone all in a tizzy was.

Im going to hijack Dimes thread momentarily

After seeing last nights Rebels, my son wanted to see the "one with baby luke skywalker" so we watched Revenge of the Sith.

When Palpatine turns his chair around while being captive by Dooku, I ask "Who Does He Become" to make sure they're both comprehending everything since in the past 3 months we've basically watched every ounce of Star Wars canon.

I expect to get "The Emperor!"

Instead my daughter shouts "Darth Sidious!"

I have never been prouder as a parent.

That's amazing :)

You're winning at parenting. Though it is one of those kinda scary reminders that kids are a lot brighter than they're given credit for. And they pick up stuff especially when you think they're not even listening.
