My expectations for this are sky-high after Show Me A Hero. I wasn't too intrigued by the top of the cast list, but when you start to go down to the smaller names (especially the alums of The Wire and Treme) things start to get really interesting.

Now that we have a GoT premiere date and we know they'll have 7 episodes, I imagine this will premiere either Labor Day weekend or the week after. Unless they push it up to early summer, which would mean it'd have to premiere before Memorial Day. As you can tell, I'm still extremely excited.

The x factor here is not 'takes place in the '70s', evoking the failure of Vinyl. The x factor is 'David Simon', and the man can do wrong. Vinyl was the guys behind Boardwalk Empire, which was never more than good.
