Elvis Costello is mostly terrible.

Terrific songwriter, but his voice is an acquired taste.

That is quite the understatement.

I don't care about him enough to argue, but I worry that KD and Plat's wrath will be swift and merciless. There's a safehouse for you in MT should you need a place to hideout until things cool off.

We will buy you a mini-fridge if you are willing to tackle the 6am cat feedings.

I can't default to wrath without knowing how much music is informing that opinion. What have you listened to, MD?

His radio stuff and his top 20 or so on Spotify. I just can't get past the voice and the music isn't interesting enough to keep me listening. I don't mind two or three tracks however.

Goodbye Cruel World is really not that bad. I listened to Trust recently and it was very deserving of all the accolades it has gotten.

Considering plat mocked me on tinychat bc I couldn't get the mic to work properly on the mobile app, I'm going to stay mum on the Costello conversation.

I prefer Wilco with Ken Coomer even though technically Glenn is the better drummer.

Throw in the Mermaid Ave discs too.

And the YHF demos have Ken on them (iirc). There's some lovely feels there.

###FAKENEWS. Sad

For me it's a perfect example of great songs ruined by awful production. Those songs slay live, but I just can't listen to the record.

I find ST much more successful than YHF.

I agree, ST is a wonderful album. Quite possibly Wilco's best.

It's an odd, happy record, and the Bowie/T-Rex production is a fresh coat of paint for Wilco. I love it.
