Meanwhile AMC has renewed its martial arts western "Into the Badlands" for a ten-episode second season to air in 2017. That's up from the six episodes of the first which averaged 5.6 million viewers per episode - making it the third highest-rated first season in U.S. cable TV history.

It debuted in November 2015. Not a big deal. It aired between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The new slot will be better.
