We're gonna need this thread bigly in the next four years. Probably time to retire the election thread and move over here to discuss his policies, appointments, achievements and failures as his presidency unfolds.

How about that Reince Priebus/Steve Bannon one-two punch eh?!
He's being intentionally divisive within his own party, I think. The message seems pretty clear: "I'll work with the established GOP, but I'm going to be guided by the people (read: the deplorables) who elected me."
I'm not super worried about racist/misogynist/homophobic ideas becoming policy at the federal level, but I think he's going to try to give those choices back to the states more. As for Bannon's role, he is gross and evil, but hopefully it will repel enough establishment republicans to not make our lives a total shit show. I'm still more scared of Pence.

I'm sure Bannon's role in the White House will be quite similar to what it was on the campaign trail (or appeared to be): clueing Trump in to buzz words and phrases that will help rile up support, especially on social media and such. I'm not too worried that he'll effect change in policy, but if you didn't like the rhetoric of the campaign, I don't think it's going to change very soon.
I'm kind of upset that the title of this thread doesn't include the phrase "check out sex tape."

i think trump needs to keep the crazies on his side as a hedge to the establishment turning against him
but i foresee a bannon/priebus relationship meltdown somewhere in the first 12-18 months. one will consume the other and get to stay; and the other gets tossed. probably priebus who gets tossed, physically by bannon; out a window - because bannon overhears him commenting on how he likes a knish every now and again
i also foresee splitsville for burt and lonnie

John Bolton would be worse. There aren't enough four letter words to describe that guy. I'll be legitimately worried about the future of the country if he's picked.
So I just assume we will be plunged into a war, regulation will cause a collapse of the economy and housing market, war will escalate, we will re-elect him in 2020 and the circle goes round and round?

I don't think we'll be "plunged," per se. They'll spend s couple years ramping up arms production and armed forces enlistment; then, like all business based on hard assets, they'll say "Shit, we have all these new weapons and employees, we need to make our assets make money." It will start with a series of skirmishes, then somewhere around year 3 or 4, we'll declare war on whoever -- just in time to start the "Don't change horses mid-stream" argument for 2020.
