You posted that last week, trag.

I don't mind most wild game, but the elk sausage I had was disgusting.

Yea, I thought I posted that, maybe in the Talk About Your Day thread? I was searching for elk, sausage, game, all with me as the author, and coming up blank. Sorry for the double post.

I think we all know what your real #1 meat option is... :naughty:

I was kidding. I would have been very surprised if it had been Pete, actually.

No, Pete's wise as fuck.

Just doesn't seem like advice the guy with the highest post count on the old board would give. Speaking as the asshole with the highest post count now, I can tell you I regret many posts. You just have to plow through and move on.

I've never had bear, but from what I hear it's not very good -- "greasy" is what I have heard from multiple people.

Elk/antelope/deer can all be really good, but they are super lean, so you have to know how to deal with that. Otherwise it's just gamy cardboard meat.

I've never thought about bear before. I'd certainly try it if the opportunity presented itself, though. But yeah greasy doesn't sound like what I'd want from bear meat.

I want to try goose, too. I've had pheasant. The dryest, toughest fowl I've ever tried to eat. Literally like the sole of a shoe. Dove is really good.

Goose is great, very similar to duck. Pheasant can be awesome, I think someone didn't cook yours right. Where the hell does one have dove?

I used to date a girl whose dad would go on dove hunts, much like pheasant hunts. He'd bring a mess back and her mom would fry them and she make biscuits & gravy and fried potatoes to have with them. Hot damn, that woman could cook!
