I think a lot of people get hung up on the masks and all that, but really it just adds an element of fun and mystery to their whole act. The proof is in the music for me, and I've become a huge fan. They are simply fantastic live...my son and I saw them again the other night and they always deliver. They even come onstage to the creepy backwards chanting from Eyes Wide Shut, which I find hilarious
Anyone else digging these guys?

For those who don't know, the band is the brainchild of the Nameless Ghoul who plays the white guitar. He writes all the music and lyrics and conceived the whole thematic premise of the band. Obviously someone who put a lot of thought into creating a band that was accessible musically yet challenged people's thought about religion, good and evil, etc. One interview stands out in particular to me, where the interviewer offhandedly remarked about the song "He Is" that it was "about Satan" and laughed. The guitarist said that's not necessarily true, and that on the surface while they come off that way, if you dig deeper into the lyrics they're really about man, not gods.

Saw them on Sunday and it was one of the top 10, maybe top 5 shows I have ever been to.
Nice! I was at the show in Eugene on Saturday and the setlist was great! I almost thought about heading up to Portland to catch them again but it wasn't to be. Glad you got a killer show man!

my buddy took me to their show here back in july. i'd only heard the song cirise, which he had sent to me so i knew kind of what to expect. they were pretty good, and the show had its moments. i don't think they're a band i will listen to much or follow, but i would see them again. the stage presentation and costumes were cool. they covered roky erickson's 'if you have ghosts', which made the show for me.

So I was wrong about this...the lead singer is the one behind it all. Tobias Forge. Anyway, new album is coming and the first single Rats was released and it's killer. Cardinal Copia is the singer character for this album...I'm guessing all those pope robes were getting pretty hot to wear onstage all the time.

I heard that Danse Macabre song the other day - you'd almost call it an accident since it's not something I was searching out - and got a big Scorpions vibe from it. I was a little surprised since I had the band pegged as heavy metal. Or, at least something heavier than the Scorpions.
Where should I go to start with the band? The beginning, or somewhere in the middle?

Do you have Apple Music? If so, pull up the Ghost Essentials playlist.
It's tough to pick a starting point with this band because it can vary from one album to the next. If I had to pick one though I'd say start with Infestissumam.
