Alright, I bought Hail, Hail and Who You Are, because my copy is shit. I'll wait on the albums. If they ship and people go apeshit about them, I'll grab them then.

Yeah, and Ed also re-recorded all the vocals.
I know I am in the minority here, but I like it when they do stuff like that. Maybe not for a reissue where the appeal is a new format like vinyl, but the old songs exist. I'd rather here new takes. Even if they are inferior there is likely to be something interesting about them that reframes the original songs by comparison.
They've been playing tracks from the Randall's island show quite a bit the past couple weeks. Maybe this will be released on vinyl for this this thing?

I have no interest in buying any new "old" product by Pearl Jam unless it's an unreleased concert. For all the shit talking they used to do about digital and how great vinyl is, they sure are an audiophile-unfriendly band. It was basically all senseless poser snake-oil babble on their part. They probably listen to their record collections on fucking Crosleys.

When you say "something interesting," you mean like changing "dad" to "Rod?"

I got these. When are they supposed to ship?
August is what they have said on the site but you know there'll be a screw up at the plant or something and they'll ship them out at Christmas. Or next year.

I got the originals at reasonable prices in 05 - 06, and am selfishly frustrated at the reissues I knew were inevitably coming anyway. Does anyone know anything else about Bob Ludwig besides him ruining "nevermind"? and does "mastered for vinyl" mean that its pressed with dynamics? or does it mean mastered s/t style?

I'm guessing remastered with some mild dynamics, but not enough to satisfy RM.
They'll probably just run all of the tracks through the same shitty EQ across the board. i.e. no unique mixing/mastering focus per track. Typical half assed jissery.

Of course not, they aren't re-mixing these and that EQ is probably from the mixing rather than mastering.
Vinyl has some limitations so a really shitty CD master can be a problem.
I had all of them that were released, as well as a few others. I loved my MD player, right up to when Sony decided to take forever to allow mp3 recording. Too little too late by then. Got a ton of money for my set though, way more than I paid for any of it. Hell, the blank discs I had sold for almost 400% profit.
