Me too. It was so good to get exactly that, a new entry into the world of Evil Dead...Bruce Campbell shines again.
Are you guys worried about the next batch of episodes not being directed by Raimi?

A little bit, though even Raimi didn't push the aesthetic as hard as I would have liked in the pilot. Frankly, I'm a little concerned about all the ancillary characters. When Ash is on screen, it's wonderful. When not, it feels a bit...like a TV show.

I agree. I was worried already when they announced those two kids. Hope they die.

Wouldn't say equally. The horror stuff was solid, but a lot of the in between was noticeably lacking. Writing and humor definitely suffered without Raimi; Ash needs to be more animated and ridiculous. Also, still not sold on Pablo and Ashley, and I'm concerned about the cop subplot (very TV). But, still, I'm on board, of course.

I disagree, for the most part. I really love Pablo, and I felt like the humor in this episode felt more organic, and less like they were reaching for one-liners.

I laughed more in the second episode than the first.

I kinda get what you say LV, and i kinda think the same, im not sure how this will held without Raimi.

But, so far its been great, scary and funny. And looks really good right?

Cinematography and lighting were pretty good for a TV show, yeah. I'm just surprised anyone could say the humor felt more organic and less reaching in this than the first, because I felt the complete opposite. And I missed all the ridiculous slapstick stuff Raimi delivered (the lightbulbs, the killer doll). We'll see. I'm hopeful, but a little skeptical right now.

True, there was no slapstick stuff...but i welcome that for the second episode. Its was nice to see they can reach out a different storytelling view and it works.

Im confident about the cop plot too. And i love how violent and gory this is...cant believe we have a evil dead tv show with this level.

It's worth noting that the first two episodes were made by movie directors. From here on out, it looks like it's gonna be TV directors. Another reason I'm skeptical.

LV, always hoping for the worst, even when he is having fun.

Yeah, we are all going to die man, eventually.
