i tried. the show experience itself certainly plays a factor in several of these - i don't think i'd list the philly halloween or pj20 shows, for example, as high if we were just considering performance. the bonnaroo show still makes me smile whenever i think about it; it will take a pretty exceptional show and experience to top that one.

I wonder how fast that show would have been suspended if it happened today?

I was at that 7/3/98 show, too. The Shoreline Amphitheater kinda sucks for sound if you're in the lawn, and the crowd was stupid... tearing up chairs, barricades, and railings to the point that the band had to change to some slower songs at one point and lecture the fine KC idiots

I was also there. But way too drunk and stoned to fully remember. hell, I may have even been guilty of some chair destruction. I was up front somewhere. It was the show where I finally decided not to get so fucked up at concerts.

Towards the top of my list is the 2003-06-06 Las Vegas show. The crowd was really randy and not into EV's anti-Republican speech which actually made for a fun night. Great setlist too, except for Know Your Rights. I have grown to hate that song because of Pearl Jam.
SET 1 Go Save You Spin The Black Circle Last Exit Even Flow I Believe In Miracles Interstellar Overdrive Corduroy Better Man You Are Grievance Wishlist Green Disease Daughter Present Tense Lukin State Of Love And Trust Porch ENCORE 1 Last Kiss Love Boat Captain Down Breath Do The Evolution
ENCORE 2 You've Got To Hide Your Love Away Crazy Mary Know Your Rights Fuckin' Up Rockin' In The Free World

I came in during last exit I think, couldn't make my way in there in time. Then I went to get an overpriced miller lite or some shit during even flow, which, of course. Interstellar overdrive comes on after even flow, and I got so amped up because it was almost like they were starting over because I finally got there. Which, obviously no, but it felt like I didn't miss the opening.
Hearing the show now, I wish I had got in there for the first few songs, that looks like fun.
