The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I really enjoy all of these planned/unplanned inconsistencies...

Louie has not foregone narrative logic; he’s embraced illogic. I’ve known Louis C.K. since 1990 and, like all great comedians and even greater story-tellers, he’s sloppy with the details. And he’s got a filmmaker’s innate sense of visuals over logic. Over and over again, both onstage and in one-on-one conversations, he swears his shaky allegiance to the factual, chronological nuts-and-bolts of the recounting of a story, or even the remembering of a life. There he is in this episode, on the motorcycle from the season premiere—the one he crashed into a truck—which he absolutely should not be riding. Then there was the episode last season where he was checking out the new apartment and his jacket disappeared and reappeared moment to moment. He’s jettisoned daily order for a larger, emotional truth. I know that sounds cheesy, and very new-agey, but it’s an old-fashioned notion, one Louis refuses to let die. Robinson Crusoe strips down naked, swims out to his shipwrecked boat, and then fills his pockets with goods. Ray Davies is purposely oblique about being “glad [he’s] a man / and so is Lola …” Ozu’s domestic interiors have zero spatial congruity from shot to shot. But we recognize the great, human storytelling, and feeling of trust and confessional, in all great works and, guess what,Louie is a sloppy, illogical, great piece of work.

Overall, this was the not-greatest episode of the show yet. The whole young Asian clerk thing was off the mark, and the asshole cop friend was a reach. No real laughs and it didn't say anything meaningful or compelling.

I thought Lenny was just a sad guy. He acts like this big shot tough cop, but he's really just this not very self-aware guy that can't get out of his own way. I mean, he does admit that he knows he isn't easy to be around. You're right that it wasn't very compelling, though. We've seen that type of character before, but I thought Rapaport nailed the character at least. If anything, I feel like it was to say, "this could be a cop in your city"

I finally watched the last one after it sat in my DVR for nearly a week. Michael Rappaport did a good job with a character that's just not likeable. I know guys like that too, that never outgrew the "bro" stage or the unaware immaturity. It took me most of the first season to figure Louie's not a linear show and that continuity doesn't matter from commerical break to the next scene, or sometimes even within the same scene. My enjoyment of the series grew once I realized that, plus seasons 2-3 were so much better than the first anyway.

Just watched the last one off the dvr, I think it was the best one of the season so far. The opening scene with Jane at the doctor's office was great. There's been a couple times where she's come across as a weird little kid and this is another. The young actress playing her is a natural. The rest of the episode deals with Louie's dreams and gets a little surreal at times. The show can blur the reality line in a normal episode but goes further in that direction tonight. Got to admit, I jumped at the first nightmare scene. But I liked how it tied back to an earlier scene and the episode clearly ends, another thing the show does not always do. Love the piano jazz music too.

The episode also reminded me it would be nice to have a handyman around the house. Anything more complicated than a hammer or screwdriver and I'm all thumbs.
I dream of little monster, crawling up my leg. I fear they'll come again, if I go to bed. I wish that something else would, be in my dreams. Here come those little monsters, crawling up my leg. I dream of dying babies, and why do they smile? I hate those dying babies, why don’t they just die? Their smiling faces, give me diarrhea. Please die, you dying babies, in my diarrhea. My dreams, my dreams, my dreams...
