I'm sorry I missed the Dime & Spenno show, but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.

I just checked in here from vacation to say that I respect Spenno's evaluations of Pearl Jam more than almost anybody here. He really knows what he's talking about, and even if you don't agree with him you have to respect his taste.
I'm on team Spenno. Actually, all the Aussies here are great dudes.
This.
I'm sorry Dime but I think it might be a case of confirmation bias and that you miss the positive comments Spenno also posts, or that he has come to be a figurehead for you for the bootleg criticism that comes from MANY other posters.

can anyone remember Spenno loving a bootleg from this decade?
Lima 2011 comes to mind as one that I went back to listen to again based on Spenno's recommendation, but I'd wager there was at least one boot from each of the last few tours that he gave similar wraps to.

A bit off topic, but mentioned much earlier in the thread, Spenno, what were the 2009 Australian shows that you like so much? I relistened to a few lately and still don't find them strong.
I think Brisbane 2009-11-25 is one of the most underrated boots of the band's entire career - awesome vibe, setlist and performance. If You Want Blood (You Got It) > Blood is fantastic
It's funny that our collective opinion of 2014 is relatively similar, yet everyone is at each others throats.

The last three shows of the tour (Brisbane, Auckland and Christchurch) are very strong. I rarely listen to the encores because they are so predictable but the main sets are outstanding. Christchurch is sloppy but when it's good it's REALLY good. Particularly the opening run of Given to Fly > Got Some > Animal > Once is excellent.
So I was working on the mix last Saturday, making good progress when my hard drive just gave out. Upon service the data was not able to be saved. I gave it to my friend to see what he can do but I think I lost about 70 finished tracks and my lists. I am ready to give up, maybe it's a sign....
Both St. Louis and Moline are holding up great for me on disc -- a few slight lyrical hiccups in the "No Code" set from Moline, but overall the sweep of the gesture so overwhelms them that they don't matter. Two months later -- and with the recorded evidence right here in front of me! -- I remain shocked that I got to be there to see them do something this cool...

Oh man, that sucks. Fingers crossed your mate can save something.
Oof, that's bad news, lowlight. Hope it works out.
I have to admit, after my earlier grumbling, further listens to some of the 2014 US shows have been quite enjoyable. The shows are up and down, as you might expect, but the band generally sound really good. I might even throw something together at some point.

It definitely seems like the kind of show that would have been a lot of fun to attend but it was all a bit bleary, sloppy and end-of-tour-celebratory for me. Case-in-point: Ed tries to prompt the crowd to sing along to the opening moans in Release (and, from memory, ends up coming in at the wrong part anyway).

Did that turn you off right away and thus sour your mood of it? I really feel they played powerfully and eds voice stayed pretty strong for most of the show.

No, not at all. My Father's Son was superb and Even Flow and RVM were both some of the best versions from the tour, I just didn't enjoy as much overall as I did Memphis or Detroit or St Louis, etc.
