Does anyone have this? A Record Store Day release used 2 tracks from it, so clearly, a recording exists. I can't find the show anywhere. Any help?

Man. I always miss out on RSD. One of these days, I'm gonna participate and get something good. Something real good.

It's fun at times, but you've gotta deal with a lot of CHUDS and flippers as well, so it can be disheartening.

How early do you usually have to turn out?

I normally just browse the leftovers the day after and grab what's still available. I'm sure I've missed out on a lot that way, but that's just not the kind of collector I am.

That sounds like more my speed. But someday I want to experience the real deal.

I stood in line on RSD for the first time last November. I didn't even have anything special in mind, I just had a rare Black Friday morning to myself and wanted to see what it was all about.

Customers arriving to purchase RSD releases were made to stand in a line and request the releases that they wanted once they got to the counter. Only thing is, my record store neglected to give everyone in line flyers listing what was actually in their inventory, so it ended up being quite the clusterfuck.

I should have just taken advantage of the big used bin discounts and skipped that line altogether, but I did end up with a pretty cool Dylan single.

When I went last April, we pulled into the parking lot 5 minutes after the store opened and the racks inside were already swarmed. They had set up everything right at the front door, so we didn't have to run around or anything. There were probably 50 people inside before us, but I still got 2 out of 3 new releases I was looking for, plus they had a sale on used stuff. I don't think I'll change strategies this year.

RSD is my facorite "holiday" besides Christmas, but as the years have gone by, it is a lot less fun now than when it started out. This year I ended up getting there 30 minutes early and the line was already down the block. When I got in, people were pushing each other and grabbing things from others' hands. What lunatics. And I had the feeling they were all flippers, just after the low numbered items to list on ebay as soon as they got home.

My record store makes it fun by saving up lots of freebies and throwing them out on RSD too, we get free t-shirts and tote bags, records, cds and dvds, stickers, guitar picks. etc., so at least there's that.

Where do you live? Or I guess, where did this most recent RCD experience take place?

I'm in Seattle. And I think part of the issue was that there were a lot of Seattle-centric releases- at least I hope that's what the issue was and that this April things are different.

Hope it's a bit easier for you this year. Hopefully, I'll have my own experience to share.
