-Like the Post-Strike baseball tournament, all of these games will be simulated via whatifsports.com.

-Participants will pick the franchise they'd like to use. Once you pick your franchise, you can use any season that any player had playing for that franchise. Players who played for multiple franchises can be on multiple teams, but you can't use a season they had for another franchise (ex. Carlton Fisk can be on both the White Sox and Red Sox, but the White Sox can't use his 1975 season and the Red Sox can't use his 1983 season).

-You need twenty-five players to field a complete team.

-We will have a regular season before the tournament. Everyone will play everyone else four times, twice at home and twice on the road. There will be a home-and-home each game day. After everyone plays everyone else, the schedule repeats a second time.

-The playoffs will be best-of-seven series. We will use the same rules about pitching rotations/rest as we did in the Post-Strike tournament. You will have the option to start someone on two games' rest twice during the playoffs. You will have the option to do it four times during the regular season as well (where the same three games' rest rule applies). A pitcher CANNOT start on two games' rest in consecutive starts. He needs a full three games before he can start again after starting on short rest. Rotations will reset at the All-Star break and the start of the playoffs.

-The top six teams in the standings at the end of the season will make the playoffs. First and second place will receive byes into the semifinals. Tie-breakers for the second and sixth spots will be settled via play-in game. These games are considered part of the regular season, so pitchers in them are subjected to regular season rest restrictions. Tie-breakers for the other spots will be based on head-to-head record. If the teams split their meetings, the tie will be broken by whoever had the better record against the highest seeded team overall (this will carry down in the standings until the tie is broken).

I would love to see some fans of other franchises get involved, like electro or spike.

I should be allowed to put an Expos team in, too.

Hmm. If you think you can handle running two teams, I'm ok with this.

I want a Cubs fan to join so I can shut them down a la the 1906 World Series.

I'd say I want a Twins fan to join too, but I don't think they really exist.

Would you guys mind reposting your rosters in this thread? That might help give people who weren't in the last tournament an idea of what we're doing, in case anyone else is interested.

I'll plan on not doing it, but if we end up with an uneven number of teams I would be happy to throw a team together... only pre-Nationals, though.

It looks like last year they added all of the 2013 seasons to the database around October 3rd. Assuming they do the same this year, 2014 seasons should be usable since I don't think we'll be starting the regular season till after then.

I almost picked the Expos just cuz that would be fun.

If you need me to run a second team just because or to get to a second number I can. Like Braves, Cubs, Royals, etc.

Are we allowed to put players at a position they didn't play in the year we are selecting? I know we could in the last one but I just want to verify.

Yeah, you just have to be prepared for the simulator to hold it against you. It worked well in some cases, but in others (Craig Biggio) it was a disaster.

I'm tempted to run a Giants team as well just so I can have a prayer of being competitive.

We don't have any Giants fans on RM, do we? Or the Dodgers, for that matter.

People from California don't support sports teams.
