Here's today's post, just barely in before my midnight deadline. Here you'll read all about Nirvana's final photo shoot, see the Buzzcocks perform "Ever Fallen in Love?" in 1978 on Top of the Pops and hear Kurt Cobain's heart break on stage during the definitive (yes, better than Unplugged) version of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?".
Here you get to see an interview with the Buzzcocks, watch an episode of Ren and Stimpy and hear Nirvana covering "My Sharona". Oh, and the show is incredible. Enjoy!

Today's post is in much earlier. This show takes place in beautiful Grenoble, France on February 18, 1994. In today's post, you get to see the Buzzcocks perform "I Don't Know What to Do With My Life" in Grenoble and you get a brief history of "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter", complete with FOUR separate versions of the song. This post probably won't interest most of you, but here's 2500 words about a show of which no recording exists. Here I post a kickass French punk compilation, quote Sideways Stories from Wayside School and make a plea to help surface more Nirvana shows. Great post. I'd love a list of your top ten unsurfaced shows for PJ and SG too.
And where's that 4-disc SG comp? Some of us are salivating...
The SG comp got sitting on my computer, 95% done. I'll probably post it when I finish with the Nirvana series. I also have a Nirvana comp that is 99% done, plus a special Nirvana mix from Europe 1994. Oh, and I have an R.E.M. one-disc mix that is done, and that I can post anytime somebody wants it. Also in the works: two disc comps for Radiohead and Sonic Youth.

Here's today's post, in which I link to videos by the Melvins, Divinyls and...Bryan Adams. Oh, and Kurt tells a story about hitting the singer of the Divinyls in the face with a paper airplane at a Aerosmith concert. You also get a video of a (almost)fully acoustic performance of "The Man Who Sold the World". Here's the link: http://mattisnotfrench.net/february-21- ... ut-my-eye/
I've got a kickass surprise coming up tomorrow, along with what I assume will be a huge lament about how the worst show of the European tour got the best recording. Fucking Rome. I'll be busy all day, so it won't be posted until late tomorrow most likely.

Tonight's show doesn't have a lot going for it, but I decided to spice things up by uploading the full FM soundboard recording of the Melvins' set opening the show. Believe me - there's a lot more energy and passion in the Melvins' performance here than there is in Nirvana's perfunctory performance. We're almost to the end - after that I will stop bombarding this thread with posts.
Tonight's post is about Nirvana's show in Ljubljana, Slovenia on February 27, 1994: http://mattisnotfrench.net/february-27- ... ack-tests/ In this post I dig up 2 new articles and a bunch of new pictures of the show and post the best version of "Drain You" ever, as well as one of the best performances of "The Man Who Sold the World" ever - diamonds amid the rough of a bland, forgettable show. Only one more show to go...
