We just booked an all inclusive beach vacation for Jan 2024. I'm not always a fan of that kind of travel but I'm really excited about this one!

Planning is in the works for a Europe trip next year, likely May timeframe. We had talked about going for our 10-year anniversary in 2026, but decided to push it up.
Looking at London, Paris and Versailles, Pompeii, Naples and Rome.

It’s kind of an armpit. Traffic is abysmal, parking is worse. Not an easily walkable city. Lots of mediocre food, by Italian standards. Unless you’ve got family there, I’d just pass through.

I mean…it’s all relative and I don’t know your interests. If you’re fascinated by economic development, city planning, that sort of stuff, it could be an enriching experience. But it would not remotely make my shortlist for best spots in Italy to celebrate a big anniversary.
we're going for two weeks total, so i don't think stopping in Naples is going to ruin things. we'll see. still have plenty of time to plan and add/remove cities.

Move it to August and I can join you and your family

Do you have plans to go then, or is that the best time of year to go?

Go to Pompeii, Positano, ferry to Capri
skip Naples, it is unsafe
best feature is the quality of the food in the surrounding area. the city itself is no Rome
Positano/Capri is absolute paradise
