“ David practiced law in Seattle for almost his entire career. He and Carolyn refused to live anywhere other than Capitol Hill and they had to have a view. He loved to be the center of attention and later in his life when he and Carolyn traveled he only wanted to go if he could be catered to and pampered. He loved the Huskies, the Mariners, the Seahawks, and the Super Sonics. His favorite band was Pearl Jam, even though he never really listened to them...”
Just replace David with bammer.
Which part of this is NOT you?

During Eddie Vedder’s shows at Benaroya, he alluded to Pearl Jam working with Andrew Watt, who produced his album. I’m curious what those sessions have been like.
We have talked to him and got together a couple of times doing some demos, and it was pretty fun. Just a different kind of vibe. He’s got a great energy. He’s way into getting good sounds. We also have Josh Evans, who worked on our last “Gigaton” record, we have a whole other section of songs from that era, too, that I think we still need to look at. So there’s a lot of stuff on the back burners right now.

That signals two potential things there:
1) That they are not all that far along and the feverishness by which we expect things to progress is way off; and
2) there may not be consensus on Andrew Watt. I mean, that was hardly a massive endorsement and he threw the prior producer right into basically the same thought.

Confirms there was a "Gigaton II" as many speculated, including one of our own with inside info.

Hope we get to hear it someday.
Also, “that era”…so… 2 years ago was a different era.

Maybe someone in the band just told Mike to chill out with the info. I remember he said they’re slowly working on stuff but nothing imminent in like November of 2019, then 2 months later the album got announced.

I'm inclined to go with this interpretation.
The question was specifically about working with Watt and Mike said it was pretty fun but hey don't forget Josh and we have a bunch of old shit to still work on too.

« Looks like iHeart radio made a mistake and accidentally listed a new release under Pearl Jam's page, music does not appear to have anything to do with the band.»
