The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
(My dog's name is Nigel and I did a double take before remembering who produced TT )
The reissued TT LP track order is:
Platform Blues The Hexx You Are a Light Cream of Gold Ann Don't Cry Billie Folk Jam Major Leagues Carrot Rope Shagbag Speak, See, Remember Spit on a Stranger
I think this is much better, and ending on "Spit" is very affecting.

It would have been fun to have been a Pavement-appropriate age in April 1992 instead of being eight.

I believe my first real exposure to the band's existence was record store posters both in the wild and in the 1999 film High Fidelity. I bought the deluxe editions of both S+E & CRCR on the same day in 2005 and immediately assimilated the malkmusian canon into my diet, never looking back. It's as if I grew up with this band all along.

i remember dating a (college) girl around the time of CRCR. i think she had that album too, but i never inquired about it, or recalled hearing anything from it until many years later.

I kind of discovered each subsequent album on a similar timeline to their release as well, just different years. It was a couple of years after digesting that initial purchase that I grabbed Wowee Zowee. That one took a bit to marinate, and I eventually grabbed Brighten the Corners a few years later. I bought Terror Twilight the same year Mirror Traffic came out.
Funny how that all worked out, now that I think about it. I guess I didn't consume the whole canon at once after all. I think I binged his solo/Jicks stuff quicker than actual Pavement albums, actually.

Lot of Pavement members on Kreative Kontrol episodes recently. Haven't listened yet.
I was able so far to get through about 15 minutes of the Nastanovich/Westie episode with archivist Jesper Eklow, and they were mostly singing the praises of Mark Ibold so far. Can't wait to listen further. They also waste no time trashing Malkmus in comparison to Ibold, which I thought was particularly interesting given the fact that a reunion tour is kicking off fairly soon. Gosh, Vish is such a good interviewer.
Anyone listen to Eklow's band, Endless Boogie?

I think I'm the most vocal defender of Terror Twilight in general on this board. I've always found the maturity an interesting chapter in the Pavement story and Nigel's production works well with these guitars. You Are The Light would make my top ten Pavement songs.
That being said, I think this tracklisting on the reissue is a huge improvement. Wow. I kind of can't believe what a difference sequencing makes, and that's coming from a devoted fan of albums as experiences.
