They're one of the more consistent bands around, you see. Youtube them and select a playlist. Or sort by most views if you want to familiarize yourself with songs that have a good chance of making the setlist.

I was about to tell you to listen to "Yoshimi" because I prefer it, but "The Soft Bulletin" is more widely recognised as their true materpiece. At any rate you done goofed with this ridiculous request.

anyone else see them on this tour who's seen them in the past?
i saw these guys during the yoshimi, mystics, and embryonic tours but i think they've changed their live show since then. i dont want any youtube clips b/c i want to be surprised but is it nothing like they're 'birthday party spectacle' shows?

It's changed quite a bit since The Terror came out. I was front row for their set in Nashville TN back in April with The Black Keys. Their new set up is darker but still remains "true" to what you'd expect from the Lips. These guys have probably been my favorite band since Embryonic came out. I can't really explain what their music means to me. I'm just fascinated with pretty much everything they do.
shit was awesome.. im a big tame impala fan n i liked them better but flaming lips were really good
the only song i know by name is the wand n they played that.. i need to find the setlist cuz i liked almost all the songs.. the light show was insane.. i feared a seizure haha.. he sang on this hershey kiss like tall stage thing.. cool stuff
i enjoyed this concert. as good as the flips can be live in terms of entertainment and a spectacle, their new stuff can be a bit of downer. their stage setup and light show was very cool though.
tame impala was even better than when i saw them a few months ago at the 930 club. this tour is very more jammy / spacey. i thought they were better than the lips overall.

Haven't spun them in a while, I might rectify that soon, but I still think the last two dark and bummed out Flaming Lips records are miles better than their Soft Bulletin/Yoshimi phase.

I've recently had a tremendous rediscovery of this band, having just recently gotten around to checking out "Embryonic" and "The Terror." I love them both--they even make "At War With the Mystics" seem more palatable as the transitional record it is.
I'm pretty green on their early records--the furthest back I have is "Clouds Taste Metallic." From what I've heard I'm pretty partial to their later stuff but are there any big fans of their early records here?

I love the early stuff. It's different for sure, but there's something about that "on the verge of collapse" out-of-tune warbly pop that I just really dig.
I'm not sure, if Clouds isn't doing it for you, that any of the other stuff will. But Hit to Death in the Future Head comes to mind as a fantastic record.
