G2t. Has violently opposed Pj for at least 16 years now. It’s fine. For a few years after 2006 he was aggressively anti PJ. He went away for a number of years. didn’t expect him to give two shits about this album or shows. Totally fine.
But this whole “oh I’ve seen them 80 times…”
Come on. Fuck off. You’re over them and done. I’m glad you came in and said it wasn’t your thing. Totally fine. But I fucking hate when people try to come in and convince others they’re are some how inferior and shouldn’t like this shit.
So over that.
Glad you still suffer reading comprehension problems. I was told my opinion *didn't* matter cause I wasn't a big enough fan or something. Only positive reviews are allowed, Strat.
I suffer from comprehension? I literally just spent time telling you it’s totally fine you didn’t like it. I’m calling you out on you being holier than thou by mentioning how many times you’ve seen them as if that fucking matters
g2t can speak for himself, but it reads to me as though he was trying to frame his criticism by establishing how much he had once cared about the band. I don't see the claimed superiority, it's just a statement of fact.
That’s how it read to me too. Strat’s an emotional guy.

People have been posting negative opinions of Pearl Jam/anything related here for 20+ years. But they always come back to the board. I find it endearing.

I don't think seeing PJ 80 times is a good indicator of how big a fan someone is, but instead a good indicator of how much extra time and money someone has.

Someone *was
Does this apply to Pearl Jam (concerts) or is this about EV & Earthlings? I saw a few EV solo shows years back, before this album. They were good, but I wouldn't be surprised if people were underwhelmed. An actual Pearl jam concert though...

Yeah, lighten up. Why is G2T getting his balls busted? I'm in the same boat as him to be honest. Shit, he probably had enough sense to punch out before I did. One of, if not the final straw for me was waiting in line at midnight for a pop up in Soho to get the lightning bolt LP. Ugh, that was awful. I'd enjoyed those shows though. Just planned on Barclays but ended up doing Hartford too. Those were fun, but that was it for me - after tons of shows, money spent and miles logged, I walked away from the table up. No regrets.
I had no desire, not even morbid curiosity about seeing Earthlings or even getting into the record itself (couldn't get past 10 minutes of it). But hey, if that's your bag, gahbless. I could see it being a fun time.
