I too have been feeling much better, but this no taste/smell bullshit has gotten old real fast.
It's around one year for me now, since I lost my sense of smell/taste. Had various stages of anger/frustration, but you just get used to it and give up after a while.

Does it affect your appetite/diet?
Well, I lost 30 or so pounds, but I attribute that to replacing beer with seltzer & vodka most days, heh. It's weird - I can taste meat, fruit/veggies, and beverages. Anything bread, or anything else just has the same odd odor (coffee too, when it's brewing). I can sense there's an odor, but that's it, and tastes like nothing. Hard to describe, it's not really a "loss" of smell but more like you just can't differentiate between things anymore.
