This should go in the "Things you just don't understand" thread but I'm going to put it here. "Soft cider" and "hard cider" (U.S) should really just be called "apple juice" and "cider" (U.K).
this is so wrong on every level. Apple juice is clear and yellow, while cider is cloudy and brown.
Yeah, one's cloudy apple juice, the other is clear apple juice. Do you have different names for cloudy and clear lemonade?

Apple cider is just pure apple juice, unfiltered. Apple juice is filtered and clarified, and doesn't taste as pure apple-y.
oh i see. yeah we have that here, they're both just called apple juice though.
