The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
AP will no longer name suspects in minor crime stories

Yet I’m sure my hometown newspaper will continue to drag every possible citizen’s name through the police blotter as it’s done for the last 40+ years.
What are the second order effects of this beyond the AP not printing Joe-Bob's name under his DUI report?

Hypocritical Times Did The New York Times force out a star reporter over claims of racism, only to reassure the Pulitzer Prize Board that he was innocent?
....
But in the latest turn of events, it appears that the Times is more than happy to stand behind McNeil and his reporting when it thinks that doing so will win them awards. On June 11, when the Pulitzers were announced, the Times picked up a prize for its COVID-19 coverage during the previous year, and McNeil’s reporting was explicitly cited as some of the “winning work” for which the Times was chosen.
In a statement, McNeil told Fox News that the Times contacted the Pulitzer organization during the deliberation period to stress that he wasn’t a racist:
“Fearing the controversy would cost them a Pulitzer, the Times wrote to the Pulitzer jury and board to reassure them that I was not a racist. They said they had looked into the same accusations in 2019 and had found them mostly false,” McNeil wrote, stressing, “I was told this both by…Dean Baquet and by [assistant managing editor] Glenn Kramon, who oversees prize submissions.”
If true, this means that the august publication once again confirmed that its leadership believed McNeil to be innocent of the charges against him. (Neither The New York Times nor the Pulitzer Prize Board responded to repeated requests for comment on McNeil’s claims.)

Tonight I dvr’d the OAN prime time shows just out of curiosity. They had stories on immigration (several), the Supreme Court decisions released today, the NYC mayor race, an interview Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger gave to some other news outlet, the threat of China and/or communism, gun control, defending the filibuster, and the 4th of July weekend. They did mention Trump, who visited the Texas southern border. But not a peep of the indictments against the Trump Organization. Newsmax did discuss the story, but with the expected witch hunt and prosecutor misconduct spin, including Eric Trump saying they run amazing golf courses and they’re not personally worried because they’re good, honest people unlike Hunter Biden.

Pretty bold take that Capitol hill reporters who are used to reporting on legislative happenings and jizzy dresses should be expected to just role with the punches of a violent insurrection
