Both good candidates, I think. I have no idea. Pavement is all over the place but they have a definitive sound I can't really describe well enough to nail it down.
"Grounded" does seem like a more likely candidate than AT&T, fwiw. There's a heaviness to it. A sort of slow burn, thick and sludgy thing that seems to happen at least once or twice on every album. I also hear it on "Stop Breathing", and a lot on Brighten the Corners ("Type Slowly", Transport is Arranged"...), "Ann Don't Cry" from Terror Twilight...
