The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Finally finished this; it's a great watch, particularly if you're a Sleep Well Beast fan. I wore the record out when it first came out, so I haven't revisited it much in a while, but hearing it in this setting is pretty amazing.
Revisited the last record for the first time in a little while, I think that still hovers right under the Alligator/Boxer 1-2 punch as my favorite National record. I'm surprised that it seems like it's had a more mixed reaction than most of their other work; it's a bit ungainly at moments, but it's got such good songwriting, and manages to push at the band's sounds in ways that were unexpected.

I listened to it again yesterday and still think it might be their best. It's in the conversation for sure.

Boxer is great, and it's what really got me into them. However, I go back and forth about Alligator or Trouble Will Find Me being their best album. It's those two that I choose to listen to the most.

I like Alligator, but I don't think that it's aged well at all. This is especially true when compared against each new The National album that, to me at least, is better than that output.

Agree with you up until I Am Easy To Find. I just don't think that one is better than Sleep Well Beast. I don't think SWB is better than TWFM either, but it is better than IAETF.
