First 8 miler in a while. Great weather. Strong run. Felt great.

I was visiting some friends in the Poconos last week and got in a couple of runs there, which I think it really helped me overall. There are so many big hills there that running in Brooklyn (if the "big" hill in Prospect Park) felt flat and my legs were never fatigued. Breath was even. I didn't have my Garmin with me (broken wrist band) so I'm not sure what my actual pace was but based on start and end times I'm guessing I was averaging faster than usual.

8.2 miles on Monday
1 hour of weights/cross training on Tuesday
8.2 miles on Thursday
1hr weights/cross training + 1hr of swimming on Friday
Did 6.8 miles today. Much higher heat and humidity.

I feel like I want to be dead. Today should not have been as difficult as it was. I'm spent. I think the swimming has as much to do with it as the heat, honestly.

I finally had a long run yesterday without any issues with my legs. Usually at least one calf would get very tight and sore, or my upper thigh, or my ankle. But this is the first time in this almost 2 month span I felt like I could run for long periods without body soreness. However, it was so hot that I got light headed/nauseous and needed to walk for little bits. Looking forward to more and more improved runs. This is the best. Feels great to be feeling healthier. Lost over 10 lbs. so far.

I am 616 miles into my 635-mile journey across "Tennessee," with 6 days left to run or walk the final 19. It doesn't seem like much, but it's going to be tight. If I can walk two miles per day that will leave only 7 to run, which I should be able to do this weekend. I had hoped to finish with a final surge, but splitting my time between hotels, airbnbs, and home has really screwed things up. But June is when I truly fucked myself. If I'd just walked a mile a day in addition to the little running I did, I would be done by now. I signed up for this thing thinking it would be easy, but if I do finish I'm definitely going to feel like I earned that buckle.

Did 7 miles today.

Stomach was being an asshole. Bad heartburn. And weird aches and cramps. I'm guessing I was dehydrated?

Anyway. Decent time. Beautiful weather. Glad I got out.
