I guess. I usually make omelettes and use olive oil, in that pan. Veggies are thrown in with the sausage at the right time, though.

My oven, as well as heaving the traditional bake and broil settings, also has convection bake and convection roast settings. What are those for?

Convection basically blows the hot air around the oven, the idea being that it creates a more uniform heat. Probably good for something big like a whole bird or bread. It can ruin lighter baked things like soufflés.

I’m looking into toaster oven/air fryer combo units. Any opinions?

Which ones are you considering? I literally just read an article on them in the most recent edition of Cook’s Illustrated.

Don’t know anything about them, would generally lean towards Cuisinart because I’ve been happy with their stuff in the past.

Cook's Illustrated wrote:

Since air fryers are essentially mini convection ovens, it's no surprise that manufacturers are adding air-frying functions to toaster ovens. We wanted to see how the food produced by these air-fryer toaster ovens compared with the food made in our top-rated air fryer, the Philips TurboStar Airfryer: Avance Digital, and our top-rated toaster oven, the Breville Smart Oven. We bought seven air-fryer toaster ovens and used them to toast bread slices, make broiled asparagus, and roast chicken, and air fry frozen french fries, homemade french fries, and chicken Parmesan. Our favorite air-fryer toaster oven, the Breville Smart Oven Air (Model BOV900), is great for those looking to air fry for four people (our favorite air fryer is good for two servings). It produced excellent toast and broiled asparagus, a golden roast chicken, and crispy french fries and chicken Parmesan. It was intuitive to use and, aside from the included air fryer basket, it looked like and functioned almost identically to our favorite toaster oven.

Sounds like you can just buy a toaster oven with a convection function.
