When they make the movie of your life
You’re gonna have to do your own stunts
Because nobody could pull off the same shit as you
And still turn out right

I was just listening tonight and loved the line "With all the tolls we pay, we'll own the highway someday."

I need to spend a lot more time with Dream River. That and Woke On A Whaleheart slipped through the cracks for me when they came out. I'll throw it on tomorrow.

I sort of stumbled across a soundboard-quality bootleg from 2009. It's this show: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/bill-cal ... 8d48d.html

I haven't converted it to MP3 yet, so give me a day or two before you hmu for it.

This song has sort of flown under my radar (it's a cover), but it's been in heavy rotation recently:

Hadn't heard that, thanks! Sounds like ARATMTL.

According to this article, there will be a new song released every Monday for the next 10 weeks; sort of like how for Shephard there were 4-5 tracks released weekly: https://closedcap.com/2020/06/26/bill-c ... new-album/

Agreed. I can't decide what I like better: the way he introcues himself or the first line of the song: "The pigeons ate the wedding rice and blew up somewhere over San Antonio."

I'm spinning Rough Travel for a Rare Thing right now; one of my favorite LPs, one of my favorite stories behind getting it. It had already been out of print for a couple of years, and one day I noticed it popped up on the Drag City online store. Ordered it immediately. Got an email a few hours later saying the restock was a mistake. Bummer. I asked them to just cancel the order. Then, a few hours after that, got an email back that one of the stock guys spent half an hour digging through their warehouse and found a lone copy.

First three songs that have been released are all lovely. This is the closest thing he's done to a spiritual followup to ARATMTL :hooray:

Fourth song is out, it's fantastic. "Step aside song, you're gonna get hoit ... You're messing with a man's toys."

This thing is really gonna deliver.

I like in Pigeons when he describes marriage as "when two atoms from the Big Bang get back together with the old gang."

:luv:

I’ve only listened to these once or twice. It’s a pain to fire up just a few songs. Can’t wait for the album though.
