I'm so worn out on "Alive" that normally when I hear it, my eyes glaze over and I tune out. But I've listened to this version of it so many times this past month. Jack is killing it.
By the sounds of it, Melbourne '95 was a hell of a show.

It sounds stupid because it's basically the original version, but that's exactly how I felt seeing it played live at The R&R Hall of Fame induction. It oddly felt like a brand new song that night. A different drummer really makes a huge difference.

I know what you mean. I wasn't there, but I listened to that version a lot around that time and felt reinvigorated with the song.

y'all are amazing, thank you! i've listened to this twice now and it's so nice to have some of these songs with jack. i didn't have a version of "smile" with jack, so that was probably the highlight for me. this also made me appreciate matt a little more. i mean, my preferred pj drummer is jack for sure, but there are a handful of songs where i like matt better. most is the non jack stuff like why go, go, even flow, whipping. i love the way even flow in particular sounds from the '98 leg of the tour with matt.

Belated thank you for this. Gonna start listening tonight. I’ve seen them play w/ Jack 3 times but all were abbreviated performances. Bridge school ‘94, Golden Gate Park ‘95 and Irvine ‘03. Other than that I haven’t really spent much time listening to live Jack shows. Really looking forward to hearing these.

Had this on at work today and man Given to Fly just hit me, Ed sounds absolutely fantastic. The whole collection flows really well, stellar job as always.
