Another bullshit fine & forfeiture.
But Cam Newton's playing for cheap!!
well given past history i can understand why there is so little tolerance for them breaking the rule
i wonder whether newton's fancy hats will hold up in the NE winter

I heard that a while back. Be interesting to see if that really does happen and when it's officially announced. But really, I'm much more interested in whether or not the season starts on schedule.

About time with the Redskins. Also, I saw today that the players association voted to do away preseason games all together this season. Of course the league would have to agree to that and I can't see them turning away that much extra revenue.
Though, I see that Red Tails (according to Twitter) seems to be a popular option for the name change. I like the idea of honoring brave soldier well enough, but is mascoting a different group of marginalized people, even though it's not at all pejorative or bigoted like the old name, really the best move?

I think the issue with the Chiefs has much more to do with iconography though. We don't have a Native American mascot. The name isn't bigoted or pejorative. The name doesn't have to apply to native peoples at all.
However, the war drum, the white lady on a painted horse, the tomahawk chop, etc. It's way past time for that shit to go. Even as a ten year old at my first game I thought the chop was in bad taste. I've never done that and ask my friends not to when I watch with them. It's gross and there are countless other idiotic cheers that don't appropriate and characterize other cultures.
Having said that the name isn't the biggest issue, I also do know there are native groups that want the team to change the name and I'm for it, too. It'll be weird for a minute but so what.
Maybe teams should just be the city and no mascot. Other than cities with two teams, this is a super easy fix.

Totes on board with this, yes, because the majority of the country’s bulls feel exploited and hummingbirds feel left out.
For me, it has more to do with letting go of childish nonsense than a hummingbird's feelings. I'm sure the hummingbirds think mascots are stupid too. But not because they feel left out.
