It’s funny, because when he won in 2016, we all sort of wondered if he would bring the end of the modern republican party. Lately it’s feeling like it’s less of a fantasy and more like a real possibility.
After the next poll comes out: "What we really need is a Kent State moment. Look what that did for Nixon in the '72 election."

The ACA thing is wild because the only groups in favor of that are insurance execs and small business tyrants, both of which are solid Trump voters. No electoral advantage to be gained here. Just pure spite

can't wait for the home stretch and hopefully obama showing up to some biden speech and crushing it (a la B Clinton 2012)
Quote:
Mr. Obama speaks with the former vice president and top campaign aides frequently, offering suggestions on staffing and messaging. Last month, he bluntly counseled Mr. Biden to keep his speeches brief, interviews crisp and slash the length of his tweets, the better to make the campaign a referendum on Mr. Trump and the economy, according to Democratic officials.
He has taken a particular interest in Mr. Biden’s work-in-progress digital operation, the officials said, enlisting powerful friends, like the LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and the former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt, to share their expertise, they said.

Biden seemed pretty straightforward/clear with his speech and Q&A today. It was refreshing to see someone answer questions and not attack the questioners.
This is why the "Biden can't form a coherent sentence" strategy seems like a dubious one. It lowers expectations so much that he's going to go out on a debate stage, be able to string two sentences together and not shit in his own hand, and he'll overcome everyone's assumptions.

Basing your campaign on "he's senile!" when he's....well....not, is going to be a bit of a struggle. Sure, his base will believe it, but is that going to be enough?
