A few more hours in and the story is amazing. Ballsy direction and I can see why this game is being polarising. Loving it though. Just enjoy the fucking ride, seriously.

Has anyone noticed that the dark areas aren't all that dark? I've reduced the brightness in the settings, but it doesn't really make a lot of difference. Takes away from the horror side somewhat.

The only thing about these games is not knowing how far into the game you are. I have no idea if I'm 5%, 50% or whatever into the game.

Are you playing with an HDR enabled TV (in reference to the darkness). I'm playing on an OLED and find the darks to be appropriate.

No HDR. I think mine's an OLED. Maybe I need to adjust my dynamic contrast. Do have have that set on your TV and, if so, how high?

You can enable HDR in the settings (both PS4 and in the game settings). Your TV either has it or it doesn't.

I find the lighting to be incredible in general. The light comes from natural sources and fills areas very realistically.

79,000 + user reviews on metacritic with an avg of 4.4. A lot of 0 ratings criticizing the story?! Proof most people are completely insane.

User reviews on those sites should be completely ignored. They are filled with trolls, bots, and haters of all things popular.

Jesus, you'd think all those nerds would appreciate some lesbian action. Mind boggling.

I just don't get it, though. What do they seek to gain? Even if you actually REALLY hate the story choices, you can't deny it's a very well made video game, worthy of at least a 7. I just don't understand the goal. Is it a political thing? Do they hate lesbian representation in video games?

Edit: Found this article. Explains a lot. What a bunch of dumb dumb, brain-washed cry babies.

I would SOMEWHAT understand if the story bent over backwards to push a political agenda, but it doesn't feel that way at all to me. These characters feel real and who gives a shit what their sexual preferences are? Why? Do these idiots know that in the real world there actually are lesbians and strong women? Have they seen female MMA fighters? It's not unrealistic in the least.

I didn't make it that far, yet. I thought that was hyperbole. Spoilered. May want to spoiler your comment as well.

Been playing this with headphones. There was a moment that made me jump off the couch. Scared the beejesus out of my sleeping dog, who was next to me, as well.

This game has me convinced that Bane in DKR should have been Talia. The right casting would have made a perfect juxtaposition with Bruce/Batman.

I really wish this game had multiplayer. The combat is incredibly animated.

Anything's possible down the track, they did it for Uncharted 4.

I've said it in this thread before, but the first game had one of the multiplayer modes of the last generation of consoles. It was really well done. Hoping to see some refinements of that same basic formula, but with combat improvements at some point.

I read before (and think a couple times now) that there will probably be some kind of Factions release for this one, presumably for the next gen. Druckmann has already indicated that there will be no DLC (a la Left Behind), but sounds like multiplayer is still a distinct possibility. Trying to find that source...

I know they said it was still a possibility back when the first release date was announced, but haven't heard anything since. I would love a next gen free to play multiplayer or even a $20 thing.
