Thanks guys. It's been a lot of hard work this spring, but I haven't been traveling so it's been nice to have the time to help out. And having a pool is the only way we'd do this in this humidity. Just jump in whenever you get overheated. Brian, you and the lady get your butts out here! We can go to the beach too

Pretty sure the ambient temp in my house shouldn't be 86 degrees when I have the thermostat set to 74. What I'm not sure about it how to troubleshoot it before calling my home warranty company. The AC unit seems to be running fine (no weird sounds, no physical damage), I change my filters regularly, and air seems to be blowing (weakly in some areas...) out of my vents.
So AHS sent a service to look at this and it's the compressor that needs replacing. On a 2 year old unit. They'll cover most of it, but I'll be out $500 for the coolant refill. Not too bad.
But here's the rub. I'm thinking I've got a bigger ventilation issue going on in my attic. Need to install some soffit vents and probably some more roof vents or I bet this happens again next year. It's hot as hell up there.
