I get nostalgic. My grandfather was a technician on the Saturn V project.

We watched it at work. I was just hoping the damn thing wouldn’t explode like that test they did on Friday.

Not really. He was pretty reserved about the stories he told. All I can remember him doing was giving my brother a specialized bolt he ‘stole’ and said “here, this goes on a Saturn V rocket.”

then i read it is just for delivering satellites, which is boring

Pretty sure the ultimate goal is to become an interplanetary species and steps like these are necessary. Glad to imagine not being at the whims of Earth for the next 1000 years as I'm uploaded into the A.I. singularity matrix.

What other planet? Mars? Mars looks like a pretty shitty place to live based on what we've seen.

So we can modify the atmosphere of Mars, fly there, and live?

Why don't we just fix our own atmosphere if it's that simple?

There are thoughts that the Earth’s atmosphere extends out about as far as the moon.
