HBO MAX is live today. The increase in content over HBO Now feels very significant, so it seems like a great deal at the same price. My only gripe so far is organization. When you select a movie or show (at least on the mobile app), there are no recommendations of similar movies, or movies by the same director, same genre, etc. That would be a great addition.
There are a bunch of Godzilla movies

No Roku and no Amazon? That's rough. Am I wrong in estimating how popular these two things are? Is this not a big miss for them at launch?
Guess I'm watching on the computer for now. Hopefully they negotiate the financials soon on at least one of those. Can't wait to dig into the Turner Classics on there.
A bit off topic, but how is Roku compared to Apple TV? We don’t have Roku here.
Our Apple box is kind of old but our Roku has a much better picture.
I was the one asking, but older probably does make a difference. I bought a new Apple TV 4K at the start of the year, and the picture is excellent (have not tried Roku though).

Yeah - I have an older one and two of the 4k ones, and there is obviously a difference. I'm sure Roku & Amazon have good products too, but the Apple 4K TV is excellent (replaced an old Roku with one of them).
I'm excited to see where this new Anna Kendo Kendrick show goes. It's a total rom-com, with all that entails. But I'm hoping it takes some interesting turns. We'll see.
Right now the show is just mac and cheese. But like I never turn down mac and cheese, y'know.

I'm not watching on my PS4 regularly because the watch hsitory isn't shared between platforms--so if I started something on HBO Max, I can't continue it on the HBO app on other devices (which everything else in my house is). Hopefully soon! It'd be crazy for Roku not to jump in after this announcement.

Could you imagine if these streaming services had to have contracts with computers? "Oh, you can't watch Netflix on a Dell, you need to have a Lenovo. Dell only supports Amazon and Peacock."
Just give permission for all the fucking streaming sticks and dongles and smart TVs and let us watch your god damned shit.
