Tonight I am an embarrassed Pearl Jam fan.
You ever have a Pearl Jam song stuck in your head but you don't know what song it is?

I had the little pause before "Holding his last breath" in Sad and then the guitar wailing resolve with lyric "... my god" in Gods' Dice stuck in my head.
And it took me some hunting to track down what songs those little snippets are from.

And might as well round out this confessional with the fact I just realized it's the plural Gods' Dice and not the singular God's Dice.

For shame! I feel better rocking out to Sad and Gods' Dice now though.

Today is actually my first time watching or listening to this. I knew all about it but avoided it. Watching it now, the execution is actually really good, but the coolness factor gets destroyed by the awkward intro and the lyric sheet.

As someone who was on the floor for this one, I assure you the coolness factor was 11 even in the context of an already epic show.

It really is. It was a joy to see it live, too. But acting like it's "better" than the original is *fart noise*

Both are great. Both can be great. We get to have both. Let's enjoy that we have both.

I was there for that, man.

I was but nonetheless it was really cool. Is it the definitive version? Probably not. But it worked well. I remember at the beginning trying to figure out what song it was then being mind blown.

That show was so great and fun. It’s a shame the recording does not match how absolutely enjoyable this show was.

I agree. I just listened to it (I think for the first time) and I hated it
