The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
This is not something I wanted to mention anywhere until I felt like it was rolling along, but I thought January 31st was a good deadline to put this positive thought into the world: my New Year's resolution was to write more, and so far I've written every single day of 2020. 31 down, 335 to go.
This makes me so fucking happy! Good for you. Keep writing. Keep making pages. Let me know if you need to chat or motivate or anything. This is awesome. You're awesome. So proud of you. So happy for you.

What did you write?
Edit: Also, doesn't 31/366 look like January didnt do anything to the year?

Working on a new novel, an idea that I've been kicking around for a looooong time. Not going in sequence, and using lots of time to sketch out ideas, outline, brainstorm, organize. I have something like 28,000 words so far in just over a month, would be happy if 5000 are usable.
Yeah, there's so much time left in the year, it's ridiculous. Still not even 1/10 of the way in.

Since the Chinese are on holiday or dying from the plague, I decided to take one more pass on book three. It turns out it really needed it, but I think I'm happy with it now.

Still going strong! Now at 54 days, put another way:
I'm actually going to refocus a bit and think about turning one "chapter" I've been working on into a short story, sort of like a proof-of-concept for the whole thing. Might share that. Submit it somewhere. idk.

If you're looking for readers for any of your stuff, I'd be thrilled to give it a look and give feedback.

So one thing I think maybe I haven't shared before is that for the past year, I've been working towards submitting a packet for the NBC Late Night Writers Workshop. Have been taking a bunch of classes -- a few online courses with The Second City, plus a few local ones at the university and the local improv troupe.
Anyway I finally submitted my packet last night and I felt like it was strong enough to at least get a notice. I know that they rarely pick anyone from their first submission and anticipate applying for the next several years. Felt good though.
