I got iZotope's RX7 post-production restoration software on sale a few weeks ago, and it's amazing. I'm cleaning up mouth clicks, breath noises, removing reverb and background nose, etc, in a fraction of the time it used to take me with other tools. I removed a background dishwasher the other day and you'd never even know it!

I'm guessing you'd have less use for it, because you're sourcing audio from a professionally treated room, great preamps and probably some light compression and gating on the input (plus broadcasters who have great mic technique). But for our relatively low-brow setup, it's already a godsend.

Actually I deal with field audio a lot more now. I'm more on the news side of things these days than the production side. Reporters come to me all the time asking to help make the shitty recording they have better.

If you ever want to fly anything my way for a demo repair, feel free.

I might choose Pixel for my next phone. My iPhone 7 Plus has lasted a good two years but my screen is cracked, my battery is shot and I have two months left on my plan.
I’m thinking about the Pixel 3 unless the 4 is just a must have. I use my phone for work and social media and take a ton of pictures.

I have a Pebble 2 and a Pebble that I'm either donating to Goodwill or shipping to someone here who wants one for...reasons? At any rate, let me know before Tuesday as that's when my bag will be full.

I went ahead and paid off the remaining two payments on my 7 Plus and got myself a Pixel 3a. Love it so far, but Android is intimidating to this decade long iOS user. I don't know what to do with all of this freedom except to arrange tasteful widgets.
