i like the new album and it has grown on me the more i've listened. highlights for me are 'war on holiday' and 'you're mine'. the former clearly takes some inspiration from floyd's 'lucifer sam', but it certainly could be inspired by worse. these are not the 2006 black angels, and i'd still still take much of the first two records over much of the last two, but i appreciate that they aren't just rehashing their sound. after seeing them again last saturday, i definitely believe they're still a damn good, kick-ass band to see live.
still can't get enough of this song, though

This is good but I'm curious why exactly this band is getting so much of the attention of recent times? There's has always been a 'new' fuzzy psych band every year for as long as I remember doing this sort of thing.

awesome show last night. tba and roky didn't play together at all, but seeing them on the same bill was exciting and i wouldn't trade it. roky's backing band was the hounds of baskerville, for which his son, jegar, sings and plays.

Anyone hear this yet? They released a 7-song EP today, Clear Lake Forest. Wasn't able to grab it at the record store, interested in hearing the entire thing...
