three or four times, yeah.
I showed it to my son and said he should read it and he vehemently disagreed. Apparently he's under the impression that every single SK book is a gorefest that will make him pee with fear if he reads it. Which is about 85% true but still, the book is titled "On Writing"...is a giant quill pen going to appear out of nowhere and stab someone to death? Talk about deus ex machina.

That sounds like an idea for a King book.

I enjoyed Duma Key very much. The ending was typical King -- "And then everything goes haywire in a supernatural way!" -- but it was otherwise a great yarn, and the FL setting was a nice change of pace.
I think Revival is the better recent work, though. Also Full Dark, No Stars was terrific.
Odd that they mention criticism of the book being meandering, I found the exact opposite: super tight, punchy take on the classic Frankenstein story. Third act was a little silly, but first two were some of his strongest stuff ever.

First shots from the new adaptation of The Stand. I'm just guessing that Owen Teague is playing Harold Lauder? I love the guy, he'd be a great fit for that role.
