Can someone help me out with the various versions of Even Flow?
Ten - This sounds much slower than I remember. The verses especially feel like they really drag.
CD single - This sounds a bit more lively than the Ten version, but I can't really figure out why or what differences there are. It's also 4 seconds longer (4:57 compared to 4:53) so it can't be the same version from Ten.
RVM - This is drastically different than the previous two. There's some additional vocal stuff and it's the most "live sounding" of all the mixes. The music blasts off my speakers as well. Much louder volume than the previous two versions.
Redux - This is pure perfection. My favorite of all the mixes but, once again, I can't really figure out why or what's really that different. It's the same length as the Ten version, so I assume it's the original version but remixed by BoB. Even still, there are some difference. Eddie says "Hey man can you spare some change" during the breakdown, which is not on the original version.
Any help would be appreciated? I can't think of any other PJ song that has so many different "studio" versions.

Ten - original version with Dave Krusen CD single & RVM - recorded in 1992 with Dave A on drums. Both are the same versions. Redux - BoB remix of original Krusen version.

Ok, thanks. It looks like my CD single version is the same as the original version, since the new version was only included on the UK single version.
So what I hear as a difference between Ten and my CD single is probably only subliminal since I thought the single version was supposed to be different. Still, my single version is 4 seconds longer than the album version which is odd.
Thanks for clarifying though. 3 versions, not 4. That makes more sense.

This part is fascinating to me:
Pearl Jam originally hired director Rocky Schenck to film a music video for "Even Flow". On January 31, 1992, on their way to England to begin a European tour, the band members came to Los Angeles, California to film the video. The concept for the video was based on an idea by Gossard.[14] Schenck filmed Pearl Jam in a zoo setting. He had arranged a nighttime shoot at an old, closed facility, brought in different wildlife, and set up his lights among the cages and in the trees. Along with the animal footage, the members of Pearl Jam were filmed individually and as a band, standing on the side of a cliff and air jamming. The shoot took hours, and the band was not pleased with the end result. Schenck's shoot was considered a waste of time and money by the band; it also damaged Abbruzzese's wrists significantly. After shooting had finished, he was taken to the emergency room where he was advised not to put strain on his wrists. Abbruzzese would drum on the band's European tour with a splint attached to his hands.
Has this original video for Even Flow ever seen the light of day?
Its been brought up before, I don't believe it has ever surfaced out of obvious embarrassment. Zoo?
From the 10 past 10 Spin article:
GOSSARD: We made an "Even Flow" video that never came out that I'm sensitive about, because it was my idea. It ended up being totally rawk: lots of big lights, out on a cliff, definitely comic to look back on now. Hopefully at some point, we'll be able to laugh at ourselves enough to show that one.

Did Ed ever see this? Surely after his "Can't Keep" uke effort he'll be perfectly fine with it.

It would be a great thing if they let Stone be funky more often! (or if he wanted to be... I'm not sure what's responsible for it not happening so much)
I think Pistoia '06 is a good version for this
This song kicks ass live and always will. There are tons of other songs I'd see them cut back on live before this one
