Pete's made me laugh on Weekend Update several times & that seems to suit him best on the show. I know Kenan's been around seemingly forever but I was just thinking over the weekend he may be *under* appreciated. Obviously though Lorne loves him. I also like to see McKinnon and Aidy work together, they play off each other really well.
but his dad died in the 9/11 attacks, so he's allowed to make edgy jokes and they'll be funny
I'm not the biggest Pete Davidson fan but .
I mean, he's said as much in some of his skits or stand up. I'll look for evidence to back me up, but I've seen him say a pretty morbid joke and then follow it with "it's ok, my dad died on 9/11".

you sure it's not like that curb your enthusiasm episode where the guy claimed his uncle died on 9/11, only to find out he had a heart attack in midtown that day.

After a weak opener last night's SNL was actually pretty good. Sandra Oh, established serious actress, was clearly having a blast and was a great host. She was especially good as future Mikey Day's girlfriend Tishy. Even her goodbye was fun (if you like watching those too). Weekend Update was above average and had the best political jokes of the night. One of the all around more enjoyable episodes of the season. Kit Harrington hosts next week; I'm sure Game of Thrones is seeking publicity so all the fans know it starts back in a couple weeks.
Serious actors often make good guests vs. musicians, athletes and the like since they can actually act, which is somehow an underrated aspect of being a comedic actor.

Another so-so outing at best. Emma Stone has a reputation among critics as a good host but I thought she stood out a lot more in the pre-taped bits than the live sketches. She's a big fan of Gilda Radner's work and slipped into a bit of a Rosanne Rosadanna voice during one of the later sketches. Most air time yet I can remember Melissa Villasenor getting. Maybe she's coming into her own with a strong female cast; the ladies' work have been consistently best part of the season. Two weeks off before the May final run of the season starting with first time host Adam Sandler on the 4th.
