I unfortunately had to press pause after the Liam Neeson story, really looking forward to finishing ASAP. Even by that point in the flick, it was clear this was my favorite Coen flick since True Grit.
Spoiler: show
Watching Tim Blake Nelson's reaction to the bullethole in his 10-gallon hat ranks up there with the very best Coen scenes.

Also, re: the Liam Neeson story:

Spoiler: show
Is it assumed that he threw the storyteller off the cliff? Or is the answer revealed lated in the flick? If so, don't spoil it for me.

It’s assumed that he threw him off the bridge.

I don’t remember if we’ve been over this, but have you seen the original True Grit?

HELL YES, I love the original a lot. I can never decide if Kim Darby or Hailee Steinfeld were better in the role. They’re both so good!

In most ways the original is better.

They are very different in tone and look. I think the Coen one has fewer interesting themes going on, and a generally less appealing cast.

That said, the dialogue taken from the book is terrific in both. I just really don’t have any use for the remake.

Holy shit I had no idea the amputee from Scruggs was the same guy who played Dudley in the Harry Potter movies. I didn’t recognize him at all.

I love the Coen´s films...but they dont interest me as much as before. Havent seen their last two or three and i dont have any desire to.
I will see this Neflix joint they made, looks cool.
